By contributing to the Oklahoma MUFON chapter your donations allow us to continue to investigate the UFO (UAP) phenomenon. Where the Government stopped its investigation in 1969 with the end of Project Blue Book, MUFON and its state chapters have picked up where they left off. MUFON Field Investigators are volunteers; and as such, the expenses involved to investigate, educate, promote and research this phenomenon is personally financed. Outlined below are some of the areas where your donations would be used. Please consider a donation to support us, your local MUFON chapter.
Some of the expenses involved consist of: Internet Service, Website Development & Management, Domain Services, Automated Emailing and Campaign Development as well as Online Meetings.
When a case is received, an Oklahoma MUFON investigator will diligently work to discover a possible stimulus for your sighting. We strive to collect as much data as possible in order to accomplish this. The internet provides much assistance in this area. The assigned field investigator is given 90 days to complete their case assignment. Additionally, the assigned investigator will contact you for an interview to hear your experience, gather additional information and clarify any key points. When the case has been completed you will receive a notification of the assigned disposition.
Occasionally, the field investigators will need to do an on-sight investigation depending on the category and circumstances of a given case. These particular cases can take us anywhere in the state of Oklahoma and sometimes across state lines when a connection is made or suspected with an adjoining state sighting.
On-sight field investigations are an opportunity for the field investigator to gather physical evidence which may consist of: soil, rock and vegetation samples just to name a few. Measurements of all types will be conducted to include radiological, EMF and thermal readings. Additionally, scene documentation is a must and not unlike the way police document their scenes. All evidence must be properly photographed, documented, packaged and labeled. Some evidence of a particular interest will be sent to the MUFON laboratory located in Missouri.
One of the goals of MUFON is to educate the public on the UFO phenomenon. Some of the best ways to accomplish this is through public and online meetings, this website and social media. Our intent is to have public meetings during the first part of next year depending largely on the status of the current pandemic. Currently, we are conducting online meetings via Zoom on the third Saturday of every month from 2-4 pm. Additionally, it is our desire to have well known guest speakers in the future who can assist us in educating the public as well as sharing their knowledge and experiences.
A field investigator is continuously researching and educating themselves in all topics as they may relate to Ufology. Some of these areas would include Abductions and Crop Circles to name a few. There is a vast amount of information, disinformation, folklore and outright hoaxes available to us all. Won’t you join us in finding the truth?
